The values my lifestyle choice has honored are around action, adventure, human connection, creativity, empathy and vulnerability

I have been a professional diver for over 25 years. As an instructor, I have helped hundreds overcome their fears of physical harm, embarrassment and failure.

Witnessing my students going through transformations from fear to joy, doubt to success, tension to relief, feeling trapped to the freedom that comes from a new perspective has driven me through the quagmire of fear, doubt and anxiety and to embrace life and adventure.

I moved to the UK from the Caribbean in 2010 and retrained from recreational dive instructor to industrial commercial diver - ship salvage, underwater maintenance and in-shore/off-shore operations. I went through a period of feeling disconnected and adrift from the deeply emotional human connection that I experienced whilst engaging in dive instruction. Through my discovery of the concepts of life coaching I have reconnected and developed relationships that support individuals in discovering what holds them back from living the life that they desire but they may not think they can achieve.

I have two sons and live on the outskirts of London, in Teddington, with my wife and youngest boy.

“Mike is a great Life Coach. Having never done any kind of professional self-analysis, I was a little apprehensive. He was encouraging, patient and intuitive from the get-go. He has a wonderful way of making you want to confide in him, and when we did hit some more painful truths, he handled them with the right balance of empathy and professionalism. His coping suggestions have been really useful and, I feel, tailored specifically for me. I would recommend him in a heartbeat.

I would like to add that the experience has really helped me refocus on who I am and what I want to work on at this stage in my life.” Monica Grose Hodge - Ambassador for the arts and crafts sector, curator, purveyor & printer
